Security forces on Sunday successfully foiled an infiltration attempt from across the Afghan border, killing eight terrorists during a decisive operation in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of militants was attempting to sneak into Pakistan when the forces intercepted them, leading to a fierce exchange of fire that left eight terrorists dead and four others injured.

The operation is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to secure its borders and eliminate the threat of terrorism. Following the clash, a sanitization operation is being carried out in the area to ensure that no further threats remain.

For months, Pakistan has been urging the interim Afghan government to implement effective border management and prevent militants from using Afghan soil to launch attacks against Pakistan. Authorities express hope that the Afghan side will fulfill its responsibilities and deny sanctuary to terrorists who pose a threat to regional peace.

Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the swift and professional response of the Pakistani forces, saying, “Our brave soldiers once again proved their unmatched courage by thwarting the enemy’s evil designs.”

He further said the nation salutes the security personnel for neutralizing the terrorists and praised their commitment and professionalism. “The entire nation stands united with our forces,” he added. “Pakistan’s resolve to root out terrorism remains stronger than ever.”
