President Asif Ali Zardari is on the road to recovery and is expected to be discharged from the hospital within the next day or two, according to his personal physician, Dr Asim Hussain.
Speaking to the media outside a private hospital in Clifton, Karachi, Dr Asim confirmed that the president’s health has shown significant improvement.
He explained that President Zardari had travelled from Islamabad to Nawabshah on Saturday, where he developed a high fever. “After speaking with him over the phone, we decided to bring him to Karachi on Monday for further evaluation,” said Dr Asim. Upon conducting medical tests, it was revealed that the president had tested positive for COVID-19.

Dr Asim assured the public that a team of senior doctors is closely monitoring the president’s condition. “He is in much better shape now, and we hope he will be discharged either tomorrow or the day after,” he stated.
Addressing rumours circulating on social media and certain Indian news channels, Dr Asim criticised the spread of misinformation. “India is our enemy, and we expect such false reporting from them, but the fake videos and baseless stories on our own social media platforms are extremely inappropriate,” he said.
The doctor urged the public to rely only on verified information and avoid falling for misleading reports.
