An Artificial Intelligence-generated image of US President Donald Trump is making quite a buzz online, defying the divide between reality and fiction.
Dressed in The Simpsons' signature animation style, the viral photo captures a cartoon Trump in a coffin. Such is accompanied by a staged video clip proclaiming that The Simpsons had foretold Trump's demise on April 12, 2025.
The clip has gone viral on social media, with most users thinking it is a real prediction by the long-running cartoon series. However, Matt Selman, the executive producer of The Simpsons, has clarified the situation.
According to him, the viral clip has nothing to do with the official show and is rather a creation of artificial intelligence and graphics effects.
Selman stated that while The Simpsons is known for eerily predicting real-life events over its decades-long run, this particular claim is completely fabricated. “It’s not from us. Someone used AI to make it look like our work,” he confirmed.
The Simpsons remains one of the most-watched animated TV shows worldwide, often credited for its uncanny predictions of world events—from major political shifts to tech innovations.
Back in 2020, a similar rumour surfaced during Trump’s presidency, alleging that the show had foretold his demise, but that too turned out to be false.
