Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter, Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother, left viewers agog with his surprise antics during a ramp walk at Lakmé Fashion Week.
As a showstopper on day four at the event, Ishaan attracted attention not only for his garment but for what he proceeded to do—stripping off his attire in the middle of the walk to expose his eight-pack abs.
A clip of the incident soon became viral on social media, setting off a torrent of criticism from users who excoriated Ishaan for making the fashion show into what they described as an "inappropriate strip show".
In the video, the young actor is seen wearing an orange-printed shirt, loose pants, and a jacket. But as he walked to the middle of the ramp, he suddenly began undressing. After removing his shirt, he took out a sunscreen stick from his pocket and started applying it to his face and shoulders.
Even though the act looked like a marketing stunt for a brand, Twitter users did not take it as such. It was criticized by many as an unprofessional and unnecessary move. A user expressed, "Is this a ramp walk or a strip show?" Another user added, "This is the most unprofessional ramp walk I have ever seen."
Some fans even compared Ishaan to Ranveer Singh, blaming him for attention-grabbing moves in bold stunts. It is not for the first time that Ishaan has garnered criticism for such bold decisions. Previously, the actor was condemned for his nude photoshoot in 'Dirty Magazine'.
Aiding the furore of criticism, even the stunt reached the headlines quite successfully, sustaining Ishaan in the focus.
