In a significant political breakthrough, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Saif have persuaded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to change his mind regarding negotiations with the establishment.
The development came after a long two-and-a-half-hour meeting at Adiala Jail, where the discussion mainly focused on the likelihood of starting talks with major institutions.
As per sources, the PTI founder expressed partial inclination towards Gandapur's proposal, indicating a possible change of course. Negotiations also centered on reconsidering the party's aggressive stance against state institutions. Consequently, the PTI founder directed Ali Amin Gandapur and Barrister Saif to initiate negotiations with the establishment.
It was decided between them that any development in the negotiations would be kept secret until concrete outcomes were being made. During the meeting, Gandapur also updated the PTI founder about provincial politics and ongoing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governance issues.
Concern about severe criticism of party leadership on social media was also brought up. The meeting emphasized keeping party ranks united in the face of increasing external challenges.
Sources indicate that there is another upcoming meeting between Ali Amin Gandapur and the PTI creator in the days to come, hinting at further developments in the unfolding political scene.
