The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has received crucial revelations in the Mustafa Aamir murder case about the arrest of Kamran Qureshi, father of the prime accused Armaghan.
In a police report filed with the court, the sophisticated weapons, including a sniper rifle, seized from Armaghan's house, were obtained illegally from Peshawar. The investigations have found that Kamran Qureshi bought these weapons from tribal areas and got them delivered to Karachi.
The report further states that Armaghan is already in jail and is booked in several cases, such as murder, kidnapping for ransom, and police encounters. His father, Kamran Qureshi, is also under judicial custody at Malir Jail on illegal possession of arms and drug smuggling charges. Police recovered a sniper rifle, ammunition, and large quantities of bullets during the arrest of Kamran Qureshi.
During the investigation, authorities found videos and photos on Kamran Qureshi’s mobile phone, showing him purchasing and inspecting the weapons. He was also seen displaying these weapons to his son Armaghan via video calls. Due to this evidence, additional charges under the Arms Act have been added to his case.
The police have now received an NOC from Judicial Magistrate South to officially arrest Kamran Qureshi for further investigation. The authorities want to identify the illegal weapons suppliers, the route of transportation from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Karachi, and other important facts. The police have sought the court's approval to further interrogate Kamran Qureshi to reveal the entire network of illegal arms supply.
