Sana Javed’s remarks on TV show spark online debate

Popular Pakistani actress Sana Javed, famed for her roles in Pyare Afzal, Khaani, and Aye Musht-e-Khaak, has again made headlines—this time, not for acting but for a cordial exchange on Jeeto Pakistan League.

On a recent season of the widely popular game show, Sana, who is leading one of the teams, exchanged light-hearted dialogue with former Pakistan cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Throughout the programme, she declared boldly that she would play as she wanted, despite the fact that her rival team was coached by her own husband, Shoaib Malik. Although her comments were reportedly light-hearted, they generated an uproar online.

Clips of the show soon went viral on social media, with many users panning Sana's attitude while responding to Sarfaraz. Some users felt that she unnecessarily mentioned her husband throughout the conversation, while others thought her demeanour towards the cricketer was derogatory.

Others defended the actress, saying that the remarks were said in good faith and need not be taken out of context.

While the controversy continues to polarise social media, Sana Javed is back in the spotlight—this time, however, not for her acting, but for a conversation that has prompted varied responses from fans.
