Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday assumed the role of President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Currently serving as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) since February 2024, Naqvi officially took charge of this prestigious position on April 3, 2025.

His appointment represents a critical change in leadership, with new strategies and more robust regional cooperation in the cricketing fraternity.

Welcoming his new appointment, Naqvi expressed his vision for Asian cricket's future. "It is a great privilege to head the ACC. Asia is the heartbeat of world cricket, and I am committed to working with all member boards to further strengthen and expand the game’s influence. Through collaboration, innovation, and dedication, we will take Asian cricket to new heights.”

He also extended his gratitude to outgoing ACC President Shammi Silva for his leadership and contributions.

Naqvi takes over from Shammi Silva, the President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), who reflected on his tenure with pride. “It has been a privilege to serve as ACC President. Our collective efforts have elevated the council’s stature, securing historic commercial deals for the Asia Cup and enhancing cricket development programs. I am sure that under Naqvi's guidance, the ACC will keep its incredible journey going."

With a strategic vision centered on unity, innovation, and progress, Naqvi’s presidency is expected to usher in an era of youth engagement, development programs, and stronger international partnerships.
