A major update has arrived for students eagerly awaiting free laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025.
According to Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, March 20 was the final deadline for BS program students to register for the scheme.
So far, more than 250,000 students have submitted online applications, but only 110,000 eligible students will receive state-of-the-art Core i7, 13th-generation laptops under this initiative.
This scheme is exclusively for students enrolled in public sector universities in Punjab, meaning students from private universities or colleges are not eligible to participate.
Priority will be given to students in the first and second semesters of their BS programs to ensure they benefit from digital resources early in their academic journey.
Launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme aims to equip students with modern digital tools, enabling them to enhance their technological skills and educational experience.
The initiative reflects the Punjab government's commitment to promoting digital literacy among youth, ensuring they remain competitive in the evolving technological landscape.
The distribution plan includes 20,000 laptops for university students, 14,000 for college students, 4,000 for technical and agricultural college students, and 2,000 for medical and dental college students.
The scheme covers students from various disciplines, including computer science, medical, engineering, social sciences, business, languages, veterinary medicine, and agriculture.
