Eidul Fitr to fall on this date in Pakistan!

Karachi to witness hot weather during Eid, with temperatures expected to rise to 36 to 37 degrees Celsius

18 March 2025

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that Eidul Fitr will probably be celebrated on March 31, 2025, as the Shawwal moon is likely to be born on March 29 at 3:58 PM.

As per PMD focal person Anjum Nazir, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will hold a meeting on March 30 for sighting the Shawwal moon. By that time, the age of the moon would be 27 hours, making it easily observable. The gap between sunset and moonset will be around an hour, thereby raising the hopes of sighting.

He further stated that if the moon is sighted on March 30, then Shawwal 1 will fall on March 31, meaning Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on that day. However, the final decision will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

As far as the weather forecast is concerned, Karachi will witness hot weather during Eid, with temperatures expected to rise to 36 to 37 degrees Celsius. Despite the heat, sea breezes will continue to blow, bringing some relief. However, due to high humidity levels, the heat might feel more intense.

The Met Office's prediction aligns with astronomical calculations, but the official confirmation will come only after the moon is sighted on March 30.
