The noose is tightening around those involved in anti-state propaganda on social media as the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has issued fresh summons to 16 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, instructing them to appear for questioning.

Among those summoned are Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Khalid Khurshid, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hammad Azhar, Aun Abbas, Waqas Akram, Taimur Saleem, and Azhar Mashwani. Additionally, Jibran Ilyas, Zulfi Bukhari, Moosa Warraich, and Ali Malik have also been directed to present themselves before the JIT.

Previously, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Rauf Hassan, and Shah Farman have already appeared before the JIT. However, on March 14, Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI's founder, failed to appear despite being summoned.

The JIT has now issued a fresh summons for Aleema Khan, requiring her to appear on March 19. Sources indicate that investigations are ongoing against these individuals over allegations of spreading anti-state propaganda, and further legal action is expected in the coming days
