Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Türkiye on Tuesday for a two-day official visit to further deepen cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

Upon his arrival in Ankara, he was warmly greeted by Turkish Defence Minister Yashar Guler — a gesture that depicted the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye.

Flanked by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Foreign Affairs Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, the premier is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The two leaders are expected to discuss a wide range of issues, including regional and global developments, as well as opportunities for bilateral collaboration.

"I eagerly await meeting my beloved brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, tonight," PM Shehbaz said, reiterating the mutual respect and trust that underpins the Pakistan-Türkiye relationship. He called the relationship one of shared values and a common vision for peace, development, and prosperity.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will also hold meetings with Turkish investors and top business leaders to encourage trade and identify areas of investment. These meetings are a demonstration of Pakistan's new emphasis on economic resurgence and strengthening relations with trusted global allies.

Only days before his visit, PM Shehbaz had stressed the need for innovation and economic growth at the Health Engineering and Minerals Show held in Lahore under TDAP.

Speaking to the local and global stakeholders, he identified sectors such as IT, artificial intelligence, engineering, agriculture, pharma, and minerals as spheres of growth for Pakistan's youth and entrepreneurs.
