Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday pointed out the continued activities of terrorist groups based in Afghanistan, including the proscribed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Speaking to the media in London, he asked the Afghan government to act immediately against them, noting that Afghanistan needs to provide assurances that its territory is not used for terrorism.

He stated that Afghanistan is a brotherly neighbour, and the onus is now on the Afghan government to decide whether it wants to live peacefully as a neighbour or be embroiled in conflicts.

Referring to the Doha Agreement, he reminded the Afghan authorities that they should not allow their territory to be used for terrorist activities, adding that Pakistan has repeatedly conveyed this message to the interim Afghan government.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the success of his recent visit to Belarus, noting that as a result of the trip, 150,000 skilled Pakistanis will be sent to Belarus for employment. He added that both countries would benefit from exchanging agricultural expertise, which would strengthen bilateral ties.

Regarding his government's achievements, PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that they were working for the country under Nawaz Sharif's leadership and striving towards an emerging Pakistan. He had full confidence that through the joint efforts and prayers of the nation, the country would reach its goals of prosperity.

Finally, the Prime Minister announced the launch of the Overseas Convention, describing it as a historic step that would further empower Pakistanis globally and enhance their representation abroad.
