India made a grave mistake by launching an attack on Pakistani soil: PM Shehbaz

Praises the swift and decisive response of Pakistan’s military

In a powerful address to the nation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that India made a grave mistake by launching an attack on Pakistani soil, vowing that the aggression will not go unanswered.

“India’s military misadventure has cost them dearly. They must bear the consequences,” PM Shehbaz asserted. He revealed that five Indian fighter jets, including Rafale aircraft, were destroyed in a forceful counterattack by the Pakistan Air Force near Ahmedpur East. “Those jets, once symbols of Indian pride, now lie in ashes,” he added.

The Prime Minister shared that 26 Pakistani civilians were martyred in India’s overnight strikes, including a 7-year-old boy. “I just attended the funeral of a child whose only fault was being at home. We will account for every drop of our martyrs’ blood,” he pledged.

Praising the swift and decisive response of Pakistan’s military, PM Shehbaz said, “In less than an hour-long battle along the Line of Control, our soldiers showcased unmatched bravery and professionalism, turning India’s pride into wreckage.”

He congratulated the leadership of Pakistan’s armed forces for what he called a “clear victory” in conventional warfare. “This nation of 240 million stands firmly with its military. We are proud of your courage and sacrifice,” he stated.

The Prime Minister also rejected India’s claims about the Pahalgam attack, calling it baseless. “We offered a joint investigation, but India refused and chose aggression instead. No matter how many unilateral decisions India makes, the reality of Kashmir and the right to self-determination cannot be erased,” he said.

As tensions continue to rise between the nuclear-armed neighbors, Pakistan remains resolute in defending its sovereignty and seeking justice for its fallen citizens.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a powerful speech to the National Assembly, praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for delivering a "crushing response" to India’s attempted aggression.

According to the Prime Minister, Indian forces launched a night-time airstrike involving 80 aircraft, including Rafale jets, targeting Pakistani cities under the cover of darkness.

But Pakistan, fully prepared, turned the tables. "Our brave air warriors were ready. They shot down five Indian jets, including three Rafales. This is the glory 240 million Pakistanis will never forget,” Shehbaz Sharif said emotionally.

He compared the night of the attack to past incidents where India has attempted covert strikes. "Once again, they tried to attack in darkness, but our armed forces responded so effectively that they turned the dark night into a night of light," he declared.

The Prime Minister stated that valor and wisdom, not mere firepower, win wars. “India may be proud of buying Rafales, but wars are won by courage and clarity—not weapons alone,” he added.

Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to civilians martyred during India’s unprovoked attack, which targeted innocent women, men, and children. A special prayer was held in the assembly for the departed souls.

Highlighting the Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir on April 22, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s innocence. “India filed an FIR within 10 minutes and blamed Pakistan without proof,” he said. “We offered neutral investigations through an international commission, but India rejected it and even demarched the ambassador of a friendly country who supported our proposal.”

Sharif recalled India’s past efforts to malign Pakistan, including links to a train hijacking. “We have undeniable proof connecting Indian operatives to the terrorist attack on Jaffer Express,” he stated.

Concluding his address, the PM congratulated the nation and extended heartfelt gratitude to the Air Chief Zaheer Babar and Pakistan’s “iron-willed armed forces.” He urged the international community to take note of India’s reckless behavior and appreciate Pakistan’s responsible yet firm response.
