Amid escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, rumors of extended school holidays in Punjab have sparked confusion. However, Punjab's Minister for Information, Uzma Bukhari, has firmly denied any official decision on this matter.
Speaking to the media, Uzma Bukhari clarified that no extension in school holidays has been announced and dismissed the circulating notification as fake. "The situation is being closely monitored, and any decision regarding school closures will be made in accordance with the evolving circumstances," she stated.
Her clarification came after social media was flooded with unverified posts claiming that the Punjab government had extended school vacations due to national security concerns. Uzma Bukhari urged the public not to believe or share unverified information.
This reassurance from the provincial government aims to calm public anxiety and prevent misinformation as tensions continue to simmer following the recent cross-border attacks and Pakistan's retaliatory action.
The government has advised citizens to stay informed through verified sources only.
