US labels IRGC as terrorists, demands Iran halt nuclear program

US-Iran nuclear program IRGC

The United States has reaffirmed its position regarding the current crisis in Gaza, laying the complete blame on Hamas and strongly warning Iran about its nuclear and ballistic missile pursuits.

Speaking at a press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said that Hamas is entirely to blame for the worsening situation in Gaza. She justified the foreign policy choices of the Trump administration, saying that they are in line with the hopes of the American people. She further said that with Donald Trump as the leader, a robust US economy would eventually result in international stability.

He was asked about Trump's "Make America Great Again" policy and how it's affecting areas such as Occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan. Bruce replied that the world believes in Trump; hence, he was re-elected.

On Iran, Bruce underscored that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has already been listed as an international terrorist group. She asserted that Iran needs to cease the development of its nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities to prevent further action.

In the meantime, ex-US President Donald Trump has sent a warning message to Iran, threatening to take military action if Tehran persists with its nuclear weapons program. "If Iran does not comply, bombing will be inevitable," he stated.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded to the threats by downplaying them, cautioning that the US and Israel have historically been Iran's enemies. According to him, any attack from the US will be followed by a stern response, with an assurance that if Washington attempts to stir an uprising in Iran, the Iranian people themselves will suffocate any attempt at an uprising.

Meanwhile, Hamas has appealed to its sympathisers across the globe to act against the US-supported Israeli assault on Gaza. Senior Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri called on sympathisers to stand up and employ any means available, such as explosives, bullets, knives, and stones, to combat Palestinian displacement.

In the meantime, Israel ordered the evacuation of Rafah city in southern Gaza. The Israeli army ordered inhabitants to leave their homes immediately and migrate to Athe l-Mawasi camp, indicating prospects of increased military action in the area.
