A terrorist attack targeted a shuttle passenger train near the Pishin stop in Quetta on Sunday, causing panic among passengers and damaging nearby vehicles and buildings.

According to officials, the train was carrying civilians, including women, children, and elderly passengers, many of whom were traveling to celebrate Eid with their families. The explosion occurred near Chaman Phatak, where attackers allegedly targeted the moving train.

Authorities described the incident as a cowardly attack on innocent civilians and public infrastructure. Security officials said the attackers deliberately chose a soft target after failing to confront Pakistani security forces directly.

Government sources blamed India-backed militant elements, referred to as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” for the assault, claiming the attack was aimed at disturbing peace and stability in Balochistan.

The blast not only damaged parts of the train but also affected nearby cars and buildings, highlighting the danger posed to ordinary citizens in the area.

Officials said such attacks are intended to create fear and harm Pakistan’s image internationally, especially at a time when the country is making diplomatic and strategic progress.

Security forces and rescue teams reached the site shortly after the incident, while investigations into the attack are ongoing.
