Bajaur: Afghan forces launch mortar attack on Pakistani civilian population in Leyte, Pak-Afghan border area, 4 martyred

In Bajaur’s Salarzai tehsil, in the Pak-Afghan border area of Leti (Tari Pasha), Afghan forces reportedly carried out a mortar attack on Pakistan’s civilian population, resulting in the deaths of four people.

According to local sources, the shelling was carried out from across the border, and a mortar shell fell on a residential house. As a result of the incident, four people present in the house were killed on the spot.

All four victims were brothers. Those who lost their lives due to the alleged Afghan aggression have been identified as Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz, and Muaz.

After suffering setbacks at the hands of the Pakistan Army, Afghan Taliban reportedly began targeting civilian areas. Mortar shells fired by Afghan Taliban fell in the border areas of Salarzai in Bajaur and its surrounding regions.

In the Leti area of Salarzai, a mortar shell fired by Afghan forces landed in a civilian neighborhood, killing four people and seriously injuring one person. The injured individual was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

There is reportedly strong anger among the people of Bajaur over the attack from Afghanistan. Pakistan’s armed forces are said to be responding strongly to what officials describe as cowardly attacks by the Afghan Taliban.
