Bilal Maqsood of Strings became deeply emotional while performing his decades-old hit “Sar Kiye” at his daughter’s wedding reception, revisiting cherished memories with fellow bandmate Faisal Kapadia.

Sharing the moment on Instagram, Maqsood posted a video capturing him singing on stage and calling Kapadia to join him. “Last night at my daughter’s wedding reception, Mirage, the band was playing ‘Sar Kiye’. In the middle of the song, they called me up on stage,” he wrote.

He continued, “I was a little hesitant, but I went […], and then I called Faisal Kapadia to join me. After almost four years, we sang together again. It turned into a really emotional moment full of memories, love, and gratitude.”

Maqsood expressed heartfelt thanks to Kapadia for sharing in the joyous occasion, saying, “Thank you for being with us to share this happiness and make the night unforgettable.”

Maqsood’s daughter Zehra tied the knot with her fiancé, Artur, in an intimate ceremony on Sunday, January 4. The wedding was filled with warmth and cultural elegance: the bride wore a traditional mint green outfit with understated jewelry, while the groom donned a white kurta shalwar paired with an ivory waistcoat.

For fans, the moment was especially poignant given that Strings had formally ended their 33-year-long musical journey in March 2021, leaving a lasting legacy in Pakistani music. Seeing Maqsood and Kapadia reunite, even briefly, highlighted the enduring bonds of friendship, love, and music beyond the stage.
