Australian sports presenter Erin Holland has spoken candidly about the challenges of maintaining her “long-distance marriage” with cricketer Ben Cutting, five years into their union.
Despite their deep commitment, Erin admits that balancing demanding careers with personal life has been an ongoing struggle.
The 36-year-old TV host shared that she spends most weekdays working in Sydney and flies to Brisbane on weekends to be with her husband.
“The only time Ben and I have lived together for more than two or three weeks at a time was during Covid,” she explained, highlighting the reality of their unconventional marriage.
Erin also opened up about the emotional hardships the couple has faced while trying to start a family, revealing that she has undergone 12 rounds of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) over the past four years, with several miscarriages and failed attempts along the way.
“It’s been so difficult. There’s been a lot of loss,” she said, describing the toll on her mental and emotional well-being.
She stressed that mutual understanding and respect for each other’s demanding careers have been crucial in keeping their relationship strong. “The understanding we have of each other’s careers is what’s actually kept us together,” Erin said.
The couple, who married in Byron Bay in 2021, continue to navigate the delicate balance of love, career, and the pursuit of parenthood, holding on to hope amid uncertainty.
