UK Army Chief commends Pakistan Army’s role in anti-terror efforts

The Chief of the General Staff of the United Kingdom Army, General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker, has praised the Pakistan Army for its remarkable achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the UK Army Chief called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. Upon his arrival, General Walker was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army, reflecting the strong spirit of military discipline and mutual respect between the two nations.

During their meeting, both senior military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, and ways to further strengthen UK and Pakistan defence cooperation. The two sides underscored the importance of sustained collaboration to promote peace, stability, and counter-terrorism efforts in the region.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and General Walker expressed a shared commitment to deepening professional military ties and enhancing coordination in training, intelligence sharing, and strategic defence dialogue. As part of his visit, the UK Army Chief paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army at the Martyrs’ Monument, honouring those who laid down their lives in defence of their homeland.
