Another day, another reminder of how misinformation spreads rapidly in the digital age.

After Abida Parveen firmly dismissed false rumours about her health, fellow music legend Naseebo Lal has stepped forward to clarify misleading reports claiming she gave birth at the age of 56.

In a heartfelt statement, the celebrated singer revealed that she has actually become a grandmother, not a mother  joyfully announcing that her son and daughter-in-law have welcomed a baby, making her a proud dadi.

The confusion began when Naseebo Lal shared a photo of a newborn on social media, asking fans to suggest a name for her “beta.”

Many misunderstood the caption, which in Urdu is often used as an affectionate term for any child.

False claims quickly spread online, prompting the singer to issue a follow-up post urging people to “stay away from fake news.”

Naseebo Lal later shared her happiness with her fans, writing, “Praise be to God, I have become a dadi,” and thanked everyone for their love and well wishes.

A respected icon in Pakistan’s music industry, Naseebo Lal’s career spans over two decades with timeless performances in both Urdu and Punjabi, including her hit Coke Studio collaboration Tu Jhoom with Abida Parveen.

Her response not only clarifies the truth but also highlights a larger issue the importance of responsible journalism and digital ethics in an era where misinformation spreads faster than facts.

Naseebo Lal’s grace and clarity remind us that words matter, and so does the truth.
