PM Shehbaz Praises Donald Trump as ‘Man of Peace’ After Gaza Peace Agreement

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has hailed US President Donald Trump as “a man of peace” following the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement 2025 at the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt on Monday.

Speaking at a joint press conference alongside President Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Pakistani premier called the signing “a great moment in contemporary history”, emphasizing that the agreement marks a turning point for global peace and stability.

Shehbaz Sharif commended the US President’s relentless efforts, saying Trump “worked day in and day out for months to make this world a place of peace and prosperity.” He noted that Trump’s leadership had earlier played a vital role in brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in May, preventing a potential nuclear catastrophe.

“Had it not been for this gentleman,” Shehbaz said, “no one would have lived to tell what happened in South Asia. It was then Pakistan nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize — and today, after this historic agreement for peace in Gaza, Pakistan once again nominates him.”

The Gaza Peace Agreement 2025 was signed by President Trump, President El-Sisi, Amir of Qatar Sheikh Thamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The accord aims to end the long-standing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, paving the way for lasting peace in the region.

Addressing the press conference, President Trump described the agreement as “a historic change in the region,” saying it will usher in “peace and stability for millions.” He expressed gratitude to all leaders who contributed to the peace initiative and made special mention of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their crucial support.

“We have achieved a historic breakthrough, and all the momentum now is toward lasting peace,” Trump said.

Egyptian President El-Sisi also praised the US President’s role, thanking all regional and international partners who helped make the deal possible. He reaffirmed Egypt’s full commitment to implementing the agreement and supporting continued dialogue in the Middle East.
