Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, to attend the Peace Summit and signing ceremony of the Gaza peace agreement — a historic initiative aimed at ending the long-standing humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and restoring hope for millions of Palestinians.
Undertaking the visit at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, the Prime Minister called the accord a “landmark step toward lasting peace in the Middle East.”
He expressed gratitude to the summit’s co-hosts, praising President Trump’s “outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment” to peace.
In his message, Shehbaz Sharif said the day marks “the closing of a genocidal chapter — one the world must ensure is never repeated anywhere again.”
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast stance for a free and sovereign Palestine, within pre-1967 borders and with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
This summit, co-chaired by Egypt and the United States, brings together world leaders from across the Arab and Islamic world — including Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, and Turkiye — all united by a shared goal: ending the suffering, rebuilding Gaza, and restoring the dignity of the Palestinian people.
The Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit stands as a beacon of hope — a reminder that even after years of devastation, peace, justice, and humanity can still prevail.
