Thirty terrorists linked to the Orakzai attack earlier this week — in which 11 Pakistani soldiers, including two officers, embraced martyrdom — have been eliminated in a major retribution operation, the military’s media wing announced on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Tuesday night operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Orakzai district was launched on credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of “Indian proxy Fitna Al Khawarij,” a term now officially used for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In subsequent operations, security forces targeted and neutralized 30 terrorists involved in the Orakzai incident, bringing those responsible for the loss of brave soldiers — including Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Tariq and Major Tayyab Rahat — to justice.

“These successful operations have avenged the heinous act and reaffirm our resolve to eliminate all threats to Pakistan’s peace and sovereignty,” the ISPR said.

The statement added that sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure no terrorist elements remain in the region, underscoring the armed forces’ determination to eradicate the menace of terrorism.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the operation, paying tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the safety of the nation.

“Their courage and dedication will forever be remembered — they are the pride of Pakistan,” President Zardari said.

Pakistan continues to face a rise in militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the breakdown of the ceasefire with the TTP in 2022.

Authorities maintain that decisive action remains the only way forward to protect citizens and restore lasting stability.

In the face of loss, the spirit of sacrifice and unity endures — a reminder that the pursuit of peace, resilience, and humanity remains stronger than fear.
