During his two-day visit to India, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized a renewed focus on strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two nations while clarifying that visa arrangements would not be part of the ongoing discussions.

Keir Starmer, who arrived in India leading a trade delegation, highlighted that the recently finalized trade agreement marks a new chapter in UK–India relations, fostering mutual growth, innovation, and shared prosperity.

He expressed that his priority was to build on this foundation by encouraging collaboration between British and Indian businesses, especially in technology, renewable energy, and education.

While addressing questions on immigration, Keir Starmer noted that the visit’s purpose was to celebrate economic cooperation rather than revisit visa policies.
