Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed Hamas’ positive response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, calling it a “window for a ceasefire and lasting peace that must not be allowed to close again.”

He stressed that Pakistan has always stood by the Palestinian people in their struggle for dignity, freedom, and statehood.

Thanking Trump and the leadership of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkiye, Jordan, Egypt, and Indonesia for their role in peace efforts, the premier said Pakistan would continue to work with its partners and brotherly nations for an enduring solution.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar echoed these sentiments, urging an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the free flow of humanitarian aid.

The Foreign Office also welcomed Hamas’ response, underscoring that it provides a vital opportunity to stop the bloodshed of innocent Palestinians and pave the way for a just political settlement.

Pakistan reaffirmed its principled support for a sovereign, viable Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
