Pakistan has voiced strong condemnation of Israel’s attack on the Global Sumud Gaza Flotilla, which was carrying over 450 humanitarian workers from 44 countries with the sole mission of delivering life-saving aid to Palestinians under siege.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the act as “cowardly,” demanding the immediate and unconditional release of all detained activists.

He stressed that the flotilla’s only mission was to provide food, medicine, and relief to oppressed Palestinians, calling its interception an assault on humanity itself.

“The barbarity must end. Peace must be given a chance and humanitarian aid must reach those in need,” the Prime Minister said, urging the global community to act without delay.

Despite Israeli naval interception, nearly 30 vessels from the original fleet of 40 managed to evade the blockade and continued toward Gaza, raising hopes that urgent supplies may still reach those suffering.

The attack has drawn widespread international outrage. Colombian President Gustavo Petro expelled Israel’s diplomatic mission from Bogotá, terminated a free trade agreement, and pledged legal action against what he described as “a new international crime.”

He urged the international community to hold Israel accountable and to ensure that humanitarian principles prevail.

This incident underscores the dire urgency of allowing unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza and the need for the world to stand united in defending the rights and dignity of those most vulnerable.
