Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described his recent meeting with US President Donald Trump as “very encouraging,” marking the first formal bilateral engagement between the two leaders at the Oval Office in Washington.

The discussions focused on regional security, counter-terrorism, and opportunities for cooperation that could bring mutual benefit to both nations.

The prime minister was joined by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, while the US president was accompanied by Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Speaking to the media afterward, PM Shehbaz shared that the US had expressed readiness to collaborate with Pakistan in artificial intelligence, information technology, and agriculture, while also exploring investment opportunities.

He revealed that a memorandum of understanding had already been signed with a US delegation, reflecting a step toward concrete partnership.

He credited overseas Pakistanis for their unwavering contributions to the nation’s economic resilience, saying their support was invaluable.

The premier also praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for leading with “courage, boldness, and intelligence” during a critical four-day conflict with India in May, where Pakistan defended its sovereignty with resolve.

PM Shehbaz’s message underscored not only Pakistan’s resilience but also its commitment to peace, cooperation, and international partnerships that strengthen shared progress for humanity.
