Floods force extension in Hajj registration deadline

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the registration deadline for Hajj pilgrims under the private scheme, recognizing the difficulties faced by many due to the recent floods.

Officials confirmed that registration remains open through the official online portal, with over 21,000 pilgrims having already completed the process.

To ensure fairness, private Hajj operators are directed to prioritize those who were unable to perform Hajj last year despite fulfilling all requirements.

In addition, operators may accept fresh applications against any unused quota.

Importantly, pilgrims who had submitted their deposits last year will be allowed to perform Hajj this year without any additional costs, and operators are obligated to facilitate them without imposing extra charges.

However, those who withdrew their deposits after last year’s cancellation will not be eligible to avail the previous package rates.

This decision reflects the ministry’s effort to ease hardships, uphold fairness, and ensure that every deserving pilgrim is given the opportunity to fulfill their spiritual journey.
