Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with Qatar, condemning Israel’s recent airstrikes on Doha as an “unjust and heinous” assault on the sovereignty of a brotherly nation.

Arriving in Doha with a high-level delegation, the prime minister said his visit was meant to send a clear message: Pakistan stands firmly with Qatar against aggression and injustice.

After a day of engagements with Qatari leadership, the delegation returned home later in the evening.

“Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with His Highness the Amir, the Royal Family, and the brotherly people of Qatar in this difficult hour,” Shehbaz declared following his meeting with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Extending heartfelt sympathies over the loss of innocent lives, he prayed for the swift recovery of those injured and assured Doha of Pakistan’s unwavering support in countering “unjustified provocations.”

The prime minister highlighted that Pakistan and Qatar had always stood by each other “through thick and thin,” underscoring that this enduring bond of brotherhood remained central to their relationship.

During his stay, Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to Qatar’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of unity in the face of regional instability.

Meanwhile, Qatar strongly condemned the Israeli strike, which targeted Hamas officials in Doha, claiming at least seven lives and sparking outrage across the Arab world.

Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani warned that the attack endangered the security of the entire Gulf, describing it as reckless and destabilizing.

“There will be a regional response, currently under consultation with our partners,” he said, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dragging the region into “chaos.”

This moment, both leaders emphasized, must be met with collective resolve, humanitarian commitment, and an unwavering pursuit of peace.
