Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Thursday for a day-long visit to express solidarity with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar following the recent Israeli airstrikes on residential areas targeting Hamas leadership.
He is accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Qatar’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, highlighting the longstanding fraternal ties rooted in shared faith and values.
He condemned the airstrikes as unjustifiable aggression and emphasized the urgent need for peace, stability, and protection of civilians in the region.
The discussions also included the broader implications of Israel’s ongoing attacks in the Middle East and efforts to restore lasting peace.
The international community, including the UN, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Jordan, and the UAE, has expressed deep concern, calling the strikes a violation of international law and a threat to regional security.
The situation underscores the humanitarian imperative to safeguard innocent lives, prevent further escalation, and uphold justice and peace in the region.
