Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Doha on Thursday with a high-level delegation to stand in solidarity with the people of Qatar after the recent Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in Doha.

According to the Foreign Office, the premier is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

The visit is being described as a gesture of compassion and support, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to Qatar’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

During his stay, Shehbaz Sharif will meet Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to personally convey Pakistan’s sympathies and assure the Qatari leadership of Pakistan’s unwavering support during this difficult time.

The Israeli strike, which claimed at least seven innocent lives, has drawn widespread condemnation and deep sorrow across the Arab and Muslim world.

Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, denounced the attack as reckless and inhumane, warning that it threatened the peace and stability of the entire Gulf region.

“There will be a response from the region, currently being discussed with our partners,” Sheikh Mohammed said, stressing that Israel’s actions under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are dragging the Middle East into further chaos and human suffering.

This tragic incident highlights once again the urgent need for collective humanitarian action and a united call for peace to protect innocent civilians from the horrors of war.
