The Punjab School Education Department has launched an inquiry after a shocking mistake was spotted in the Class 9 Computer Science textbook, where the author confused a computer mouse with an actual mouse.
Instead of using the correct technical term, the word was translated into Urdu as chooha (rat), sparking criticism over the quality of educational material.
According to details, the glaring error was found in Chapter 11, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship. Once the mistake came to light, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Authority (PCTB) immediately demanded a written explanation along with all related records from those responsible for preparing the book.

The Director of Curriculum and Compliance has been instructed to submit a detailed report within 24 hours. Officials believe that such blunders not only confuse students but also damage the credibility of technical education in the province.
In computer science, a mouse is an input device used to move a cursor and interact with a computer system. Translating it literally as chooha changes the meaning entirely, reducing a vital digital concept to the name of a common household animal. Experts argue that the Class 9 Computer Science textbook should be reviewed thoroughly to prevent such embarrassing errors in the future.
