The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for the 10th spell of monsoon rains, expected from September 6 to 9 across much of the province.

According to PDMA forecasts, heavy downpours and thunderstorms are likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Lahore, and Sialkot, while rainfall is also expected in Narowal, Hafizabad, Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Sargodha, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Rajanpur.

The PDMA spokesperson warned of the possibility of flash flooding in Dera Ghazi Khan’s hill torrents between September 7 and 9.

Meanwhile, DG PDMA Punjab, Irfan Ali Kathia, cautioned that the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers are already facing flooding threats, and urban centers may experience overflowing drains and streams due to intense monsoon showers.
