Over 160 dengue patients are under treatment in Rawalpindi, Murree, and Haripur as cases surge across the region.

Dengue cases rise in Rawalpindi, Murree & Haripur

The spread of dengue continues across northern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with 19 new cases reported in Rawalpindi and Murree over the past 24 hours.

According to health officials, the total number of reported dengue cases has reached 88 in Rawalpindi and 71 in Murree.

Currently, 58 patients in Rawalpindi and 29 in Murree are under treatment in various hospitals. In an extensive vector surveillance and anti-dengue operation, authorities inspected 1,169,686 locations and discovered dengue larvae at 103,119 sites.

As part of the crackdown on violations of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), 3,062 FIRs were registered, 1,417 premises were sealed, 3,064 challans were issued, and fines totalling Rs. 7.345 million were imposed. The dengue outbreak is also intensifying in Haripur, where 95 patients have been admitted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

Currently, 15 men and women are receiving treatment in the hospital's dedicated dengue ward.

Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have urged the public to follow preventive measures to control the spread of the virus.
