Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called on cricket fans to back the national side in the upcoming Asia Cup, stressing that criticism should be constructive rather than discouraging.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised Ghani Club for promoting cricket at the grassroots level, saying such efforts were commendable and more clubs like these were needed to nurture future talent.
He expressed confidence in the national team’s form, adding that Pakistan will deliver a strong performance in the Asia Cup. “Our players are performing well, and they will give their best in the tournament,” Naqvi assured.

Commenting on cricket relations with India, Naqvi said Pakistan will continue to engage with India on equal footing. Regarding team selection, he clarified that he has no role in picking players, as the responsibility lies solely with the selection committee, which spends hours analyzing and debating before finalizing the squad.
“Our focus is to give maximum opportunities to the best available players,” he added.
Looking ahead to the high-voltage clash against India, Naqvi emphasized that Pakistani cricketers will put their hearts into the game. “The result is in God’s hands, but what matters is that the team fights with full spirit. Fans should support them instead of unnecessary criticism,” he said.
Naqvi concluded with a strong message: “Stop unfair criticism. Support the team. They need the nation’s backing more than ever.”
