Following the complaint, the NCCIA issued a notice summoning Maria B on August 26 to record her statement as part of the Maria B controversy case.

The incident stems from a recent video statement by the designer in which she claimed that a transgender party had been organized in Lahore. The video she shared included footage of the alleged gathering. Maria B also urged the Punjab government to take strict action against such events.

Her remarks quickly gained traction online, sparking criticism and backlash from activists and members of the transgender community who accused her of inciting hate.
