Mahnoor Cheema breaks multiple world records, secures oxford admission for medicine

British-Pakistani teen achieves unprecedented academic milestones

Mahnoor Cheema, an 18-year-old British-Pakistani student, has made global academic history by completing 24 A-Level subjects with top distinctions, setting four new world records in the process. Combined with her previous GCSE achievements, she now holds six world records, the most ever attained by a secondary school student. Mahnoor has also secured a place at the University of Oxford to study Medicine.

 

She also achieved the highest number of A and A grades in A-Levels*, earning 19 top grades, establishing her second record.

 

Mahnoor’s third record combines her A-Level and GCSE achievements, totalling 45 A grades*, 11 from A-Levels and 34 from GCSEs/O Levels, the highest awarded to any secondary school student globally.

 

Her fourth combined record is for the most individual subjects passed with distinction, amounting to 58 in total, including 24 A-Levels and 34 GCSEs.

 

In 2023, at just 16 years old, Mahnoor passed 34 GCSE subjects, including 17 A grades in Year 10* and 34 A grades overall*, which set her fifth and sixth world records.

 

Born to Lahore natives Barrister Usman Cheema and Tayyaba Cheema, Mahnoor moved to the UK in 2006 while her parents pursued higher education at Lincoln’s Inn and SOAS. She attended Langley Grammar School, later joining Henrietta Barnett School before switching to homeschooling for her final year.

 

Mahnoor’s accomplishments extend beyond academics. She holds an AMusTCL diploma in music, equivalent to an undergraduate degree, earned at age 16. She also received gold medals in Acting and Public Speaking from LAMDA and completed her EPQ in just 10 days with a perfect 100% score.

 

A Mensa member, Mahnoor combines academic excellence with creative talent, demonstrating an extraordinary range of skills at a young age.
