Popular TV actress Naeema Butt, known for her performance in last year’s hit drama Kabhi Main, Kabhi Tum, has stirred controversy with a bold new video shared on her Instagram story, where she openly criticised the showbiz industry.
In the video, Naeema responds to fans and critics in a dramatic, sarcastic tone. She says people are accusing her of making attention-seeking videos on social media because she's not getting TV roles. Laughing off the remarks, she uses humour and performance to clap back at the criticism.
But it was her next statement that truly grabbed attention. Naeema said she doesn't want to work in an industry “where actresses are found dead.” Without naming anyone, her remarks clearly pointed toward the recent tragic deaths of actress and model Humaira Asghar, whose body was found in a rented flat in Karachi on July 8, and senior actress Ayesha Khan, who also passed away under similar circumstances in June.
The actress went further, even showing her pet dog in the video and remarking that her dog is “more loyal than the showbiz industry.” The line added to the emotional weight of her criticism and sparked a wave of mixed reactions online.

The Naeema Butt viral video quickly made its way across multiple social media pages, where users expressed disappointment, accusing her of “damaging her own image” and suggesting she avoid posting such content. While some sympathised with her message about the darker side of showbiz, others felt the approach was unnecessarily dramatic.
Naeema, who starred alongside Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir in Kabhi Main, Kabhi Tum, has been absent from television lately but remains active on social media, frequently sharing humorous skits and dance videos.
Her recent video, though humorous on the surface, reflects a deeper disillusionment with the industry. Whether it was a cry for change or simply an act of bold self-expression, it has definitely kept people talking.
