In a major step toward modernising its combat capabilities, the Pakistan Army officially inducted the cutting-edge Z-10ME attack helicopters into its aviation fleet.
The induction ceremony was held at Multan Garrison and presided over by Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
Described as a state-of-the-art, all-weather platform, the Z-10ME helicopter is designed for precision strike operations, capable of functioning seamlessly in both day and night conditions. Armed with advanced radar systems and electronic warfare suites, the platform significantly boosts the Army's ability to neutralise both aerial and ground threats.
During his visit, COAS Munir also witnessed a live-fire demonstration of the newly inducted helicopters at the Muzaffargarh Field Firing Ranges. The impressive display showcased the lethal effectiveness of the Z-10ME in simulated combat scenarios.
"The induction of this potent system marks a major leap in the modernisation of Army Aviation," the ISPR said. "It strengthens our integrated battlefield response and ability to deliver decisive effects against potential adversaries."
Interacting with troops, the army chief praised their exceptional morale, professionalism, and combat readiness. He applauded the execution of combined arms tactics, which highlighted the Pakistan Army’s resolve to stay ahead in the changing nature of warfare.
Field Marshal Munir was also given a detailed briefing on the operational preparedness and ongoing training within the formation. He expressed satisfaction over the high level of preparedness and dedication among troops.
In addition to military engagements, the COAS also participated in an interactive session with academia and civil society. Emphasizing national unity and the need for civil-military synergy, he stressed adopting a “whole-of-nation approach” to tackle hybrid threats and foster greater societal cohesion.
