In a candid revelation that has sparked debate across social media, Pakistan’s rising actress Reham Rafiq has spoken openly about the unsafe environment for women in the drama industry.
During a recent interview, she warned aspiring actresses to prepare themselves mentally for the challenges and risks they may face in showbiz.
Reham Rafiq, while talking to the show host, explained that competition among actresses is a natural part of the industry, but sadly, this competition sometimes turns into jealousy and negativity. "It's not just about competing; it’s also about facing negative behaviour from some people," she stated, highlighting the reality behind the glamorous screen.
The unsafe environment for women in the entertainment world, according to Reham, is not limited to the drama industry alone. She emphasised that women across various professional fields face similar risks and challenges. "Every girl should be mentally prepared and know how to protect herself," she advised, urging young women to be strong and cautious when stepping into any career.
Reham Rafiq further clarified that while she personally has never encountered any unpleasant incident, she cannot ignore the bigger picture. “The industry has all kinds of people. It's up to the individual which path they choose. But overall, I believe the drama industry is an unsafe environment for women,” she said honestly.
Addressing the issue head-on, Reham stressed the importance of awareness and preparation for all women entering this field. She said the unsafe environment for women is a reality that needs to be acknowledged rather than ignored, and it’s crucial to talk openly about these concerns so others can learn from them.
