Deepika Padukone Makes History as First Indian to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

In a groundbreaking moment for Indian cinema, Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian to receive Hollywood Walk of Fame star, marking a powerful milestone in global entertainment.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced this prestigious honour during a live global stream, placing Deepika alongside global acting legends in the Motion Pictures category for the class of 2026.

This incredible feat not only celebrates Deepika's personal success but also highlights India’s rising influence on the global arts and culture stage. She now shares this iconic honour with stars like Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, and Demi Moore, who were also announced as honourees this year.

With a career spanning nearly two decades, Deepika Padukone has effortlessly bridged Bollywood and Hollywood. From starring in record-breaking Indian films to playing significant roles in international productions, she has truly established herself as a global cultural icon.

This latest achievement is one among many in Deepika’s illustrious career. Back in 2018, she earned a spot in TIME’s 100 most influential people list and later received the TIME100 Impact Award, reflecting her global stature. She made headlines again in 2022 as the first Indian to unveil the FIFA World Cup trophy at the final in Qatar. Adding to her trailblazing journey, she became the first Indian brand ambassador for luxury fashion giants Louis Vuitton and Cartier.

Despite her growing global presence, Deepika remains deeply connected to Indian cinema. Her upcoming projects include a much-anticipated film with director Atlee and South superstar Allu Arjun. Additionally, rumours are swirling about her role in the Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan-starrer King, although an official confirmation is still awaited.

Deepika Padukone’s induction as the first Indian to receive Hollywood Walk of Fame star is not just a personal victory but a proud moment for millions of Indians worldwide. It symbolizes the growing acceptance and admiration for South Asian talent in international entertainment circles.
