Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has surprised fans once again—not with a goal, but with a heartfelt declaration about his future.
In a recent video message released by Al-Nassr Football Club, the Portuguese star revealed his desire to settle permanently in Saudi Arabia with his family.
“I want to spend the rest of my life here,” Ronaldo said with a smile. “Saudi Arabia is a peaceful and safe country where my family and I truly feel at home.” The message struck a chord with fans worldwide, many of whom were touched by his sincere affection for his new home.
Ronaldo, 40, joined Saudi club Al-Nassr in late 2022 after parting ways with Manchester United. Since then, he has been a key figure in boosting the profile of the Saudi Pro League. Just last Thursday, he extended his contract with Al-Nassr until 2027—further signaling that his commitment to the kingdom is more than just professional.
“My family has always supported my decisions, and we’re genuinely happy here,” Ronaldo explained. “That’s why we’ve chosen to build our life in Saudi Arabia.”
Known for his ambition on and off the pitch, Ronaldo shared that he declined an offer to play in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. Instead, he opted for rest and preparation to focus on his mission of winning major titles with Al-Nassr.
According to the football star, the Saudi Pro League is one of the top five leagues in the world, and he believes the 2034 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted by Saudi Arabia, will be the most remarkable tournament in history.
Ronaldo also praised the local culture and people, saying, “The love and respect we receive here are unmatched. That’s why I want to live in Saudi Arabia permanently.”
