In a heartbreaking turn of events, Indian actress and model Shefali Jariwala, famously known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” has reportedly passed away at the age of 42.
The sudden news of her demise late Friday night has left the entertainment industry and fans in deep shock.
According to The Times of India, Shefali suffered a suspected cardiac arrest and was immediately rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with three others. Tragically, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
“Shefali had expired before she was brought in,” said a hospital staff member. The confirmation came shortly after renowned entertainment journalist Vickey Lalwani shared the news on Instagram, revealing that she was brought to the hospital around 11:25 pm on June 27.
While doctors at Bellevue Hospital, including cardiologist Dr. Vijay Lulla, refrained from commenting due to confidentiality policies, Dr. Sushant confirmed that her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination. As of now, the exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, though early indications point toward suspected cardiac arrest.
Shefali Jariwala rose to stardom in 2002 with the release of the blockbuster remix Kaanta Laga, a song that redefined Indian pop culture and earned her a permanent place in the limelight. With her bold screen presence and distinctive look, she became an overnight sensation.
