In a key decision ahead of the budget announcement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired an important meeting, where the federal cabinet approved a salary increase for government employees.
The move comes as part of the Pakistan federal budget 2025-26, aimed at providing financial relief to public sector workers.
The Rs17.6 trillion federal budget will be presented today in the National Assembly at 5 PM, under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb will formally unveil the budget proposals, Finance Bill 2025, and other related documents during the session.
