PM Shehbaz Meets Saudi Crown Prince to Boost Bilateral Ties

In a high-level diplomatic meeting held on Friday at Mina Palace, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to strengthen ties and discuss regional peace efforts.

The two leaders exchanged Eid-ul-Adha greetings and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and regional stability, with both leaders exploring opportunities for collaboration across key sectors. They also reviewed current regional developments and ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security in the Middle East.

The gathering included several prominent figures from both nations. On the Saudi side, attendees included Makkah’s Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishal, Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, and Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. Also present were National Security Advisor Dr. Musaad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir, Information Minister Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki.

Representing Pakistan were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, Military Secretary Major General Jawad Tariq, and PM’s Chief of Protocol Tipu Sultan.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office had stated that the meeting would cover ways to promote bilateral cooperation and discuss pressing regional issues. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s constructive role in easing recent tensions between Pakistan and India.

The Foreign Office described the visit as a reflection of the "enduring, trusted, and strong relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia" — a bond rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, and strategic partnership. It further stated that this visit reinforces both nations' shared desire to expand economic and diplomatic collaboration, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s development goals.

The Prime Minister’s visit is expected to open new doors of opportunity and take bilateral relations and regional stability to the next level, paving the way for enhanced cooperation in trade, security, and diplomacy.
