No Power Can Undermine Our Fight Against Terrorism: COAS Asim Munir

In a bold and clear message to India, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir warned on Friday that Pakistan will not tolerate “unlawful and unacceptable hydro-terrorism” and will decisively counter any threats aimed at undermining Pakistan's national security.

Addressing officers, faculty, and students at the Command and Staff College in Quetta, the army chief underscored the critical importance of staying alert in a rapidly changing global and regional security environment. He called out India’s increasing tendency to engage in unprovoked military aggression and emphasized that Pakistan is fully prepared to respond to any hostile action across the entire spectrum of conflict.

“The entire nation, under a unified leadership, stands as a steel wall in the defence of the motherland,” Field Marshal Munir stated, reaffirming that no external pressure will be allowed to derail Pakistan’s counter-terrorism mission. He stressed that all inimical designs aimed at diverting attention from this fight will be “comprehensively defeated.”

Touching upon regional peace, the army chief called for a peaceful resolution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute, warning that peace in South Asia is impossible without addressing this issue. He also condemned what he described as India’s “hydro-terrorism”—a reference to the illegal and coercive control of water resources—which he said poses a serious threat to regional stability and Pakistan's national security.

Honouring the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs, especially those from Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, the COAS paid tribute to their families and affirmed that their legacy strengthens Pakistan’s will to fight terrorism to its logical conclusion. He proudly referenced the success of the “Maarka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth), calling it proof of the unity among all elements of national power.

In a motivating message to future military leaders, Field Marshal Munir urged officers to embrace their duties with passion, innovation, and resolve. “Training must prepare us not just for today’s realities but for tomorrow’s battlefields as well,” he remarked, appreciating the Command and Staff College for nurturing leadership grounded in excellence and strategic foresight.

Upon his arrival in Quetta, the Field Marshal was warmly received by the Commander Quetta Corps and the Commandant of Command and Staff College.

With strong words, unwavering commitment, and a clear strategic outlook, Field Marshal Asim Munir sent a firm signal—Pakistan's national security is non-negotiable, and any aggression will be met with unshakable resolve.
