Pakistan Will Never Accept India’s Monopoly on Water: COAS Asim Munir

In a rare and heartfelt interaction with university vice chancellors, principals, and senior teachers, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday hailed teachers as Pakistan’s biggest asset, emphasizing their unmatched role in shaping the nation’s future.

Speaking at the event, Gen Munir credited his own success to the efforts of his parents and educators. “Whatever I am today is because of my parents and teachers,” he said. “It is the responsibility of educators to shape the character of future generations and pass on the true story of Pakistan.”

The session took a powerful tone as the army chief addressed multiple national and regional issues, stressing that Pakistan’s strength lies in its unity and values. “God helped Pakistan in every way in Marka-e-Haq,” he remarked. “When the entire nation stands like an iron wall, no power in the world can break it.”

Strong Message on Kashmir

In a firm declaration, Gen Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering stance on Kashmir, ruling out any compromise. “No deal on Kashmir is possible. We can never forget Kashmir,” he said. “India must know that Pakistan will never abandon the Kashmiri people.”

Calling out India’s repeated attempts to suppress the Kashmir dispute, he added, “India has tried to hide the Kashmir issue for decades, but it has failed. Now, it is no longer possible to bury the truth.”

Water security a red line

Touching upon the critical issue of water security for Pakistan, the COAS sent a stern warning regarding India’s actions. “We will not allow the fundamental right of 240 million Pakistanis to be violated,” he said. “Pakistan will never accept India’s monopoly over water resources.”

Gen Munir also condemned the subversive activities in Balochistan, describing the militant elements as external forces with no real link to the Baloch people. “These are not the voices of Balochistan; these are tools of Fitna-ul-Hindustan,” he stated.

A call for national unity

The army chief urged the importance of institutional integrity, calling for a state where the rule of law and constitutional governance prevail. “We must build a stronger Pakistan where all institutions work for public welfare—free from political pressure and personal agendas,” he urged.

He also encouraged educators and citizens to reject divisive narratives designed to weaken the nation from within.

The event ended with a powerful moment when participants passionately raised the slogan, “Ye jo mehfooz dharti hai, iske peeche wardi hai”—a tribute to the armed forces’ role in national security.

Teachers as Pakistan’s biggest asset

Throughout the address, one message remained clear: teachers are Pakistan’s biggest asset. Their role, as highlighted by Gen Munir, goes beyond the classroom—they are nation builders, shaping minds, values, and futures.

“We are proud of Pakistan and our armed forces and will continue to stand by them,” said one attendee, summing up the spirit of the session.
