Popular Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has finally addressed the growing backlash over alleged mistreatment and neglect of his wife, Emaan, in recent vlogs.
The controversy erupted after viewers claimed Rajab was seen ignoring Emaan while showing affection to others, sparking a wave of criticism across social media.
In a heartfelt response shared through his latest vlog, Rajab clarified that his actions have been taken out of context and are being portrayed unfairly. “Social media has destroyed many homes, but I won’t let it ruin mine,” he said. “If I have to delete all my platforms to protect my family, I will. I won’t let anyone turn my life into a circus.”
Rajab went on to explain that his wife Emaan is a sensitive person, which is why he has always been cautious about her online presence. “I’ve never created a social media account for her because the kind of videos circulating online would be emotionally traumatic for her,” he shared.
Addressing the specific accusation that he ignores Emaan, Rajab admitted, “Yes, I sometimes ignore her on camera — but that’s because she’s not just my on-screen wife. She’s my wife in real life too, and that relationship doesn’t need to be proved in front of a lens.”
He further revealed that Emaan hasn’t been feeling well lately and will not appear in any vlogs until her health improves. “She doesn’t know how to act or fake expressions. What she feels, she expresses — and maybe that’s why some people thought I was being disrespectful,” he said.
Rajab strongly denied any intention to disrespect his wife and even added humorously, “If I ever even think of disrespecting her, my mother would break my jaw.”
The controversy began after Rajab posted a vlog in which he was seen offering food to his sister Ghazal while seemingly ignoring Emaan, who was sitting beside them. This clip quickly circulated online, and many fans accused him of showing favoritism.
Another vlog uploaded on Mother’s Day also drew heat, as viewers criticized Rajab for sidelining his wife during a family gathering. Several users called him a “failed husband,” while others reminded him that Islam values the rights of a wife equally to those of a mother or sister.
One comment summed up the mood of many: “Rajab seems to prioritize everyone but his wife — and that’s not acceptable.”
